UICHR To Screen The Planet
documentary May 5

Explore the intersection of human rights and the environment in the
documentary film “The Planet” on Saturday, May 5 at 1:30 p.m. in
MacBride Auditorium, sponsored by the UICHR in cooperation with
the UI Museum of Natural History.

Directed and produced in Sweden, “The Planet” features
commentary by leading experts from around the world in the field of
environmental science and global political economy. This
documentary explores our relationship with Earth and the many
problems presented by economic growth, decreasing biodiversity,
population expansion, inequitable distribution of resources, and
global warming. The film features stunning scenes from countries
across the globe including Nigeria, China, Spain, India, Portugal,
and Morocco. The footage is backed by an innovative soundtrack.
